This is our first tutorial for our brand new SVG files! We are so excited to bring you kid play so that you can craft and be creative with your kids. All of our SVG files are built with kid play in mind and we hope you enjoy!
Our first release is the PlayMates Collection. There are ALOT of different PlayMates to choose from. Collect them all for a fabulous set of paper dolls for your kids to play with!
All these Mini-Lou SVG playmates can be found on the Silhouette website HERE, and Digiplayground website HERE.
Every single one of these sets are put together differently. We chose the hardest to put together for the tutorial (that would be the Jack the Pirate Set). Most of the other sets are put together similarly but each have their own unique look and pieces. Use this tutorial as a guide for putting together any of the PlayMates Collection.

Here’s how to put this one together:
Step 1. Cut out SVG files and ink up edges to create some dimension.
Step 2. Start with the large back ocean piece and fold along the perforated lines to create a box.
Step 3. Before gluing it in place, take the tan pirate ship piece with the masts and glue directly on the ocean backing.
Step 4. Wrap long rectangle ocean piece around and glue flap to the back of itself. (You can also glue the flap BEHIND but it looks cleaner to keep the flap INSIDE the ship.
Step 5. Next, glue the main pirate ship piece to the front of the ocean, and glue the waves in front of the ship.
Step 6. Use pop dots to add the accent pieces to the front of the pirate ship.
Step 7. Glue the smaller sail directly to its mast and pop dot the larger one off of the back sail. Glue the flag to its place next to the larger sail. You are done with the scene!
Step 8. Now it’s time to make Jack the Pirate! Take Pirate Jack’s head and glue the two eye pieces to the back.
Step 9. Flip him over and glue his eye patch down first then the hair over the top. If you have a girl, you will only glue the ‘bangs’ to the front and then to finish off the head, you will need to place the bigger piece of hair BEHIND the head and glue it.
Step 10. Take Jack’s body and glue his clothes on. Shirt, pants then belt and shoes. Glue the accent piece to sword, adhere to his hand, and attach his head to his body. For other figures simply use the picture as a guide for putting together their clothing.
You have now finished your first Mini-Lou PlayMate! We hope you enjoyed making and your kids enjoy playing with it!
